Niadia
held their agm this year on the 25th
February 2008 at the Royal Hotel in Cookstown.
The
format this year comprised of a half-day conference and the Agm.
We
are glad to report that there was over seventy ADIs attended the
conference.
The
conference started at 2pm with a workshop held by the DVA. Brian
Morrison went through the do's and don't s on the check test and how
to get that grade 6. A copy of his presentation is available on this
website.
Anne
McCabe, the new registrar, along with Deirdre Walsh also attended.
Representatives
of the DOE Road Safety Division agreed to come along and hold an open
discussion about how to stop the carnage on our roads and the DVA,
and PSNI took part in this.
Both
these workshops were informative and constructive to all those who
were present. It is fair to say that there were many positive ideas
to build on, take forward, and develop with the relevant government
bodies.
Several
past members were recognised by NIADIA for all the hard work they had
done over the years. These included Norman Savage, Pat Deehan, Eric
Dale, and Terry Pearson. We thank them once again for the time and
effort they put into the association over the years. You can read
about Pat and his years as an adi on this website.
Altogether,
it was deemed a very successful AGM and we hope that the format will
continue for the next AGM.
